Is the Indian campaign ready for Rio?

Whoa whoa whoa! A great League! Now the question is just for a medal........
Will the Indians create history by winning some medals there?
That's  the question.....
Srikanth Kidambi (a player whom India trusts for a medal)- After beating Lee Chong Wei in the Premier Badminton League and Lin Dan to win the China Open 2014, the 22 year has lots of hopes to shine at Rio. The Badminton Ace whose birth took place in Guntur, Andhra is proving himself to be a dangerous person after showing a talented performance.
Srikanth failed to qualify for the knockouts in the Dubai Super Series Masters Final which is played in the last month  of every year after losing every match in the group stage. The world number nine's tough opponents would be Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Viktor Axelsen, Chen Long,Kento Momota, and some rising stars, He would really have to practice and play well to make it. Having won the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold this week, Srikanth is really a player whom India trusts and believes in recent years.

Saina Nehwal (2012 Olympics Bronze Medalist)- The Golden girl of the country whom everybody trusts to win a medal as the competition is easier than the last time. Last time there were Li Xuerui, Wang Yihan and many other tough competitors whom Saina played and made her way to the Bronze. This time the supreme power will be Carolina Marin, from Spain who really knows Saina's strategy to beat her. The Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist is the biggest hope from India in the field of Badminton. She in order to win a better medal should work very hard and should believe in herself.
The fight-giving opponents of Saina are- Marin, Ratchanok Intanon, Wang Yihan, Li Xuerui and some underdogs,I should say. She has a strong record over Marin but if Xuerui plays in form, it really can be disastrous for the 25 year old.

P.V. Sindhu (2 time World Championships Bronze Medalist)- The shining star on which the sun hasn't shone yet, but she is the one who is really a great future for the nation who can prove dangerous. But,some of the players underestimate the shuttler which can be dangerous at their own cost. She also shouldn't lose hope and should be strong in contention for doing it and I have no doubt about her success. Her toughest opponent is Ratchanok Intanon from Thailand whom she gives a tough fight but many times loses. A lot of celebrations are expected from the 20 year old in the upcoming years as she is a bit inexperienced, but a confidence-boosting performance is needed from Sindhu.
Recently she has won the Malaysian Masters Grand Prix Gold which can really boost her confidence, but she had a shocking defeat in the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold in Lucknow the last week.

2016 Premier Badminton League

In 2013, the nation had no idea about any such event when the BAI(Badminton Association Of India) thought of making Badminton a popular sport in this country by hosting an official and yet a popular Badminton League. It was named IBL (Indian Badminton League). Most of the people thought that it to be a boring and an exhausting event but it didn't seemed to be gradually. The stands was the answer to the question of the enthusiasm and zeal of people in the stadium.

It was proved to be a successful tournament as the first domestic event held in an unfollowed sport in India, with Hyderabad Hotshots winning the tournament and Awadhe Warriors coming second. The tournament was responsible in making and breaking of many international players and legends. Everyone was really satisfied and excited with this new league kicking off in not a yet followed and played sport in India.

Sadly and disappointingly, the event faced an unwelcomed criticism by the BWF (Badminton World Federation) and it was not allowed to be hosted for a couple of years which was gradually asked and decided to be hosted in 2015 or 2016. But due to some reason it was not suitable to host in 2015 and the final date of PBl was from 2nd January to 17nd January. People were thrilled and really excited to have a great and an epic event held. More importantly this is an open event to the world and now there were even more foreign players participating. Some people were happy about the time of the year which was just a day after the New year commencing. The highest pick of the event was Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia and was elected by the Hyderabad Hunters team. In the Women's category, the highest pick was Saina Nehwal bought by Awadhe Warriors.

THE TEAMS ARE:

There was a new and a thrilling rule that there had to be a trump card for a team in which the team winning will gain an extra and a bonus point, and the team losing will get a negative point. Due to this, it made the tournament an interesting one, and in addition to that the tournament had 5 matches in every single tie and in each tie, there were two men's singles, one women's  singles, one mixed and one men's doubles. The new and a different system was that in each match there was best of three games of 15 points each. Akshay Kumar,The Brand Ambassador of  the tournament and a popular Bollywood actor said that he will make the sport as popular as cricket in the nation.

Finally,it all started on 2nd January in Mumbai. Many people were looking forward to this a different type of edition of the Badminton League in  the country. I would personally say that my favourite team is Delhi Acers but I like Hyderabad Hunters as well. This was another popular event as it was the most Expensive event of Badminton in many years. The highest population was found to be in Hyderabad when the Hunters were up against Chennai Smashers and Awadhe Warriors. When the turn of Lee Chong wei came, the stands were roaring- LEE CHONG WEI!! LEE CHONG WEI!!, and it helped the legendary player to have a better self confidence on court despite of losing his first two matches.

Last but not the least, I hope that the tournament won't have any lapses thereby not being an unsuccessful tournament and India shouldn't have a bad image by hosting such type of events further.

In the end I would like to say and tell the world that India has a lot of capability and potential to host many international and global events and one day India would be a major and the biggest sporting nation of the World.

Now I am here with the final results of the tournament-
